Is Hosted PBX Vulnerable over Public Networks?

Is Hosted PBX Vulnerable over Public Networks?

Hosted PBX Vulnerabilities Public NetworksSecurity Risks Posed by Wi-Fi Hotspots and Open Networks

Security tops the list of concerns for hosted PBX, despite little
reason to fret in the office or at home. In such environments, building
firewalls and security layers can protect data from unwanted guests, but
no such measures exist in the open world. This is because most public
IP networks, such as hotspots offered in restaurants and transit
stations, are unencrypted and unauthenticated, making data interception
possible.
